Converse shoe company has recently released a set of commercials which I gave the links to above. These commercials seem to be useless. Sarcastic phrases like, "Thank your lucky stars for programmers that air mindless marathons of sitcoms. Get on your knees and praise the makers of reality shows," would seem like a good idea for some kind of company or group other than a sneaker manufacturer. I suspect that Converse is going toward the activism trend, but it isn't quite hitting the spot. I feel that a good commercial for anything does not involve insulting television viewers. Most of us are too cynical to take this commercial seriously, anway. Does this commercial really make the viewer want to buy a pair of Converse?

apparently having been around for 456345 years entitles converse the right to make sub-par, horrible ads.
where has chuck taylor gone?
Were the original ads without sound, or is that just how they are on YouTube?
Regardless, I think Converse totally missed the mark with these. I find it odd that they picked on the TV shows during which, I would assume, the commercials were aired. Aren't they then also indirectly insulting the very people to whom they're trying to appeal--the viewers?
